Pass Plus
£185Pass Plus is a practical training course that takes at least 6 hours and is for drivers to improve their skills to drive more safely.
It can be taken at any time, although it should be most useful to new drivers in the year after passing their test.
Jack & Jill School of Motoring are a Pass Plus registered and approved driving school (ADI).
How Pass Plus Training Works
Pass Plus training takes at least 6 hours. It has 6 modules, covering driving:
…in town.
…in all weather conditions.
…on rural roads.
…at night.
…on dual carriageways.
…on motorways.
All modules are practical sessions, although local conditions may mean some are theory based. You’ll normally spend at least 5.5 hours driving.
You won’t take a test, but you’ll be assessed throughout the course. To pass, you’ll have to reach the required standard in all modules.
Benefits of Pass Plus
It’s easy to dismiss Pass Plus as another unnecessary expense. Especially after spending so much just to learn to drive. However, there are a number of benefits pass plus offers to new drivers, especially young drivers, looking for car insurance.
Pass Plus will help improve your confidence whilst out on the road. It will not only help to improve your hazard awareness, knowledge and skills when driving, but it could also prevent you being involved in a serious accident.
Pass Plus can help to bring down the cost of car insurance – saving you money! Insurers appreciate that the cost of car insurance is expensive. Which is why many now offer discounts to young drivers, with the Pass Plus certification.
Pass Plus will give you the experience you need to drive in many different situations; such as on the motorway, at night and in difficult weather conditions.
No more tests! Pass Plus has a number of modules you will need to complete in order to pass. Fortunately, unlike when you’re first learning to drive, you won’t be asked to sit any form of examination – it’s simply an ongoing assessment of your driving ability. The Pass Plus course takes on average, 6 hours to complete and can be run over a number of days / weeks.
The discount you could get on your car insurance could cancel out the cost of the Pass Plus course – making it virtually free! The course essentially pays for itself. Certainly worth considering if you find the cost of car insurance for new drivers too high.
